Section 125 PlansWhen your employees are required to contribute to the premiums you pay for your group medical and dental coverage, a Section 125 Plan (sometimes called Premium Only Plans, or POP’s) can help reduce their taxes by making their portion of the premium pre-tax, by taking out the contribution before taxes are calculated. The employer also benefits through lower payroll taxes. These plans are easy to implement and inexpensive to maintain.
